Ok, so this is what I ended up with:

I put 2 hidden boxes on the form called RID and RDate

I overrode the Reports’ OnOpen method:

WATCH OUT WHEN SENDING MULTIPLE EMAILS
I spent too long figuring this out – when you send multiple emails one after another the reports overwrite each other and the wrong attachments get sent to the wrong people.

Solution
Override the OnOpen() event of the report with something like:
